In the Bullseye

If you’re near a computer and you’re not following all this on the USGS website, you’re missing out.
Take a look at the recent 4.5 aftershock (red) in the middle of the 5.2 original (blue) on the regional map.

Then, look at all the aftershocks we didn’t feel here in the St. Louis area.

I remember the last earthquake that was a waker. I was maybe 10 years old and, just by chance, we were at the St. Louis Science Museum the next day. Little did we know that they had a seismograph there. It was incredible to see the scribbles. The technology we’re seeing today is amazing and so much more available to everyone.
(Update: The Post-Dispatch reports that the last big earthquakes were in 1968 and 1987. The ‘87 quake has to be the one I remember.)
